Finished 30s wrap dress

This dress is for my Blues Band shows. My guys wear black bowling shirts with leopard collar and trim. So I made this gorgeous dress from a 30s pattern using leopard ombré cotton. You will see photos of me in this when I get the pro photographer to shoot the band next month.

Finished Project: Halloween Pinup Dress- Late 50s Inspired

  I forget which on-line fabric store I first spotted this print. It's another discontinued Alexander Henry Print. GOD I LOVE THAT COMPANY. This is the same pattern as the other double collar dress I posted. I wore this for a Halloween Ball in the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania. I had a cute little feather hat with a veil. This dress is PURE awesome, and I will be wearing it to band shows for sure. Like MINISTRY says: Every Day is Halloween! sin cinturon Funny story about that hair bow. It came off of it's clip. I was gluing it onto another clip. Like a complete dumbass, After I glued it, I held it up to my hair...with glue not solid yet. Si! I actually glued the bow to mi cabello! Que tonta! I  had to pull my hair out! con cinturon Do you like it better with belt or without belt? Now that I see both, I think I might like no belt better... The original pattern has cuff sleeves. I made scallop sleeves instead. It was part of my master plan to nail down making those tricky bas...

Psycho Sue isn't so psycho anymore, what happened there?

I don't really identify with "Psycho Sue" anymore. I am in the process of emerging from a cocoon I guess. I don't have a name yet. You can just call me Suzanne. I have been focusing on developing my spirituality since October and I have not been feeling much like blogging. It's kinda hard to talk about sewing when you are preoccupied with enlightenment. LOL I wish I could explain it but I can't. I have just been pulled into this direction looking for inner peace and wisdom. I have been growing as a person and started doing daily meditations for lots of reasons. I guess I have become a Christian Mystic. I know, that doesn't make sense. But I never made sense anyway. But that's another story. In short, I kind of realized how much negative energy was in my life, and I wanted to remove it all. It included shuffling positions at work, leaving a project I had devoted 7 years to....among other things. I am feeling good now! I still have been reading comments ...

Handmade Clothes are My Skin

I tried. What? I tried wearing RTW clothes this weekend. I have not worn RTW clothes (on the left side of my closet) since winter!! And yes, my closet is segragated...RTW on the left side and Handmade on the right. Everyday I wear clothes that I made personally and it feels great. I have so many intresets and moods and images that I am in love with....and they are all there on the right side of my closet! Monsters!!!  SKULLS! Dames!!!! UBER GIRLIE PRINTS! THE ROCKABILLY!  THE GOTHIC! THE QUIRKY! Every DAY I am able to express my feeling dujor! And babies, I JUST CANNOT GO BACK to all RTW clothes. I tell you- IT does NOT feel right! It feels like I crawled into someone else's skin! Which is ok for a Rob Zombie movie; but not ok for moi! How has sewing made you feel about wearing off the rack clothes? Or maybe if you do not sew; you can realate to wearing mostly vintage or non-mainstream clothing designs, perhaps??
